Chimney

Without chimney, no permission would be granted. It is a crucial component of any incineration plant, and discharges cleaned (!) flue gases from waste incineration at a hight specified in the legal permission. Actually, the probability of lasting damage to the chimney caused by common scenarios is not high. But it is incomprehensible from the risk perspective that operators of thermal waste treatment plants give little attention to the chimney in relation to insurance coverage. 

All flue gas ducts converge in the chimney – also in case of multi-line systems. Damage, for example caused by earthquake, explosion or aircraft impact, would cause a total breakdown of the plant. 

We always include the chimney in our insurance concepts so that you remain capable to act – considering the impact to the entire plant that a damage to the chimney would cause, this seems appropriate.
